As like last year, the 2010 OAT club championships will be held during the Guelph Lake Weekend races June 19-20, 2010. There is money on the line this year so we need as many people to participate as possible. How can you help?
1. Enter a race – GTC will get points for every club member who enters a race. All events count towards participation points – this includes Try-a Tri, Duathlons & Relays. Please enter early.
2. Points are awarded for Volunteering – so if you are interested in being a volunteer – please contact Glen
3. Points are awarded for officiating – so if you can and would like to be an official – please contact Glen
More info regarding the Club Championships is available on the Trisport Canada webpage
Our first Sunday ride is this coming weekend. We will be meeting in the South End @ Starbucks (Gordon & Clair Rd) at 10AM. The weather forecast for Sunday is Mainly Sunny with a high of 15C.
Our riding loop will be 30K or so and it will take us South-West of Guelph towards Cambridge. People can ride the loop one or more times. If you are not familiar with the roads it might be a good idea to print off the map and keep it with you so you don’t get lost. Our pace will be variable with the fast people starting first. Expect early season paces of 22-28 km/h.
Sunday ride policies – to ensure we have a safe environment for everyone
1. You must be a GTC member
2. You must wear a helmet at all times during the ride
3. No crossing the yellow line – ever
4. Your bike must be in good working order
5. No stretching out on your bar extensions while riding in a pace-line (see #8 below)
6. All riders must sign-in and sign-out at our ride starting point (Starbucks). No exceptions
7. You should carry enough water and food to finish the ride
8. We will be encouraging people to ride in a manner that simulates triathlon racing i.e. no drafting, riding single file and passing on the left
9. Please wear appropriate clothing for the season – arm warmers/jackets, leg warmers/tights, shoe covers and gloves are recommended.
Hope to see many of you out on Sunday
There will be no club workout this Sunday – April 4
We are now running at Guelph lake starting on Thursday April 1st. If you need more information, email info@guelphtriathlonclub.ca.
