What the swimmer can expect:

• underwater side profile (moving camera)
• underwater forward / rear profile (stationary camera mounted at lane end)
• Above water side profile (moving camera).

A pre-swim briefing will be mandatory for all the swimmers being videoed to ensure smooth transitions from one swimmer to the next.  The swimmers will be given a swim order during the briefing, reminded what the video protocol is, etc.  This briefing will be hold at 7:45 – 7:55 on the pool deck (or in the foyer if the pool deck is off limits).  Swimmers will be expected to already be changed and ready to warm up in the pool upon immediate completion of the briefing.Video Analysis Group Session (Jan 24th) :  A group video review session will be conducted in the evening of January 24th. (location TBC). Select excerpts of each swimmers video capture files will be reviewed by ALL athletes as a broad learning tool  Enabling all athletes to benefit from the cues / stroke analysis of each of the other athletes.  These excerpts will also be compared to “ideal” strokes.

Individual Critique Package (Delivered at Group Session) : An individually tailored 2-page critique document will be delivered to each athlete.  The document will outline key areas of improvement, comments on swim stroke, and recommended stroke improvement drills. If the swimmer brings a computer of USB key, included with the critique document will be digital copies of the video footage from all 3 cameras.

Drill Reinforcement Session (Jan 25th) :  At the GTC Swim following the group analysis, reinforcement of the drills that are included in the Critique Package will be conducted 1:1 with swimmer.  They will be observed doing a small set of each of the drills and any changes in drill execution  / form will be discussed with the swimmer to ensure maximum positive impact.
